May 31, 2012:  Another experiment using
only one brush (a 3/4" flat).

After I posted the last painting where I'd used
only a 3/4" brush, someone commented that it
was still a small brush.  To put it in perspective,
using a 3/4" flat brush on an 8" x 8" canvas is
the equivalent of using a 2.25" brush on a 24"
canvas (or a 3" brush on a 32" canvas).

I plan to experiment using 'one large brush'
on larger canvases as well, as I enjoy the
challenges presented.  My palette knife is also
calling out to me (having been put aside,
years ago, when I stopped painting in oils).

I never thought I'd take pleasure in doing
plein-air style painting; however, I'm beginning
to discover many more appealing aspects than
when I first started (with the 60-60 challenge).

Right now, the 'no-see-ums' are in full force,
so I'll wait until after they've moved on
(or paint from inside the car, which presents
a different set of challenges -- primarily, lack of
space and avoiding paint on the upholstery).
