March 21, 2012:   I love snow.

As Robbie Robertson wrote in his song
Acadian Driftwood (from his days with The
Band): "I got winter in my blood".

A favourite activity, the morning after a
snowfall, is to head outside and see 'who'
came by for a visit the night before.

Judging from all the tracks across the land,
there was quite a party...deer, rabbits, coyote,
bobcat, quail and a multitude of other birds.

This set of tracks stood out from the others.
Dappled shadows splayed a rainbow of color
across the fresh snow, framing one rabbit's
trail in such a pristinely abstract way.

It was an invitation I couldn't resist.
