April 2, 2012:   As the sun began its rise
over the mesa, our first iris bloom of the
season was illuminated!

Fortunately, my morning schedule provided an
opening to paint before the wind picked up.

As the iris is symbolic of creativity, it seemed
especially apropos for this project. And, while
I love and honor all flowers, the iris has a
slightly elevated space in my heart
(right next to the daisy).

Many cultures consider it an especially sacred
flower for its layered three-petal 'trinity' array.

Iris flower essence remedy is said to help
strengthen connection with Nature...must
have worked...it got me outside!   *wink*
